Azuki has what other high-end NFT collections lack: the power of anime.
The popularity of anime is surging. Anime is also rapidly intersecting with new possibilities around AI, gaming, and virtual reality.
Azuki can leverage this cultural momentum in a way that non-anime NFT collections can't.
Plus with its AnimeChain project, Azuki is positioning itself to bring new fandom possibilities to anime via crypto and NFTs—think an open anime universe where fans can co-create and own IP.
Let’s break down the bull case for why Azuki is uniquely positioned here! 👇
Say hello to the Uniswap Extension, the first wallet to live in your browser’s sidebar. Swap, sign, send, and receive crypto anywhere on the web without dealing with pop-ups. Designed for a multi-chain world, with support for 11+ networks.
Two of my favorite people in NFTs are Backseats and marka, and they've joined forces to release a charming new collection: Chonks.
The mint date isn't set yet, but the duo are planning to launch in late October 2024.
What we do know for now is that Chonks will be fully onchain customizable PFPs on Base. The idea is to use Ethereum's ERC-6551 standard to allow users to collect and swap traits for custom appearances.
This approach means that each Chonk “Body” NFT will have its own Ethereum address, which will serve as a wallet to hold all traits and other assets. Chonks will also have their own marketplace for trading traits and bodies, as OpenSea doesn't fully support ERC-6551 yet.
I wanted to put this upcoming collection on your radar now because I suspect it will be at least a small sensation when it launches next month. People are looking for something light, fun, indie, and reputable like this in NFTs right now, and I think Chonks will hit this sweet spot perfectly.
