Friends, Anyone who watched Spike TV in the early 2000s is in for a treat because SlamBall is back. The high-flying trampoline basketball league has raised $11 million from a group of investors that includes Michael Rubin, Gary Vaynerchuk, Blake Griffin, and David Blitzer. And the league officially makes its TV return tonight, kicking off a two-year broadcasting deal with ESPN. So for today’s podcast I sat down with SlamBall CEO Mason Gordon. We discuss why SlamBall initially failed, how the company plans to make money, where they find their athletes, how insurance for the league works, why ESPN was interested, and more. I hope everyone has a great weekend. We’ll talk on Monday. Listen to the Joe Pomp Show on Apple or Spotify. Interested in advertising with Huddle Up? Email me.
