With regulators in the U.S. bearing down on Coinbase, the crypto exchange has finally gone international. Called Coinbase International Exchange, the platform will only offer Bitcoin and Ethereum perpetual futures for institutional clients at first. Importantly, this is just “another step” in the firm’s global expansion, said the head of the new exchange Emmanuel Goh. This doesn’t mean it’s over for the red, white, and blue. But Coinbase said it hopes the U.S. takes note of some of the more crypto-forward regulatory frameworks emerging outside its borders.
