Called Ledger Recover, the service offers users the ability to link their crypto wallets to a passport or ID card for $9.99, providing another way to “recover” your secret recovery phrase should you lose it. Besides concerns around another potential data leak, the firm has come under close scrutiny for how exactly this process occurs (and whether it’s actually secure).
