The growth rate of hash/difficulty is ~3% month over month (90D moving average). Heat-induced curtailments are likely playing a role as to why we have not seen persistent growth in hashrate throughout the summer. Moreover, hashrate growth should continue to remain relatively slow throughout the remainder of this halving epoch as ASICs have been commoditized, and much of the investment made during the bull market has already been plugged in. If you are a frequent reader of Blockware content, you will recall that we anticipated a slowdown in hashrate growth in our 2023 Market Forecast, published in Q4 of last year.
Spot ASIC Pricing Below are the lowest current listing prices on the Blockware Marketplace for a variety of popular ASIC models. Notice that S19j Pro has had a 30% week-over-week increase in price. This is due to some incredibly low-priced jPro’s purchased last week with haste. This is an interesting case study of marketplace dynamics: high-value deals are purchased very quickly.
