The crypto industry has seen some wild characters over the years, but none quite like Heather “Razzlekhan” Morgan—the rapper-turned-Bitcoin-thief who helped swipe an enormous stash of Bitcoin from Bitfinex back in 2016.
And now she’s headed to prison. Morgan was sentenced to 18 months behind bars on Monday in a Washington D.C. federal courtroom, just days after husband Ilya Lichtenstein—the apparent mastermind of the scheme—received a 5-year sentence.
Swiping over 119,000 Bitcoin ($10.8 billion worth today) would make anyone infamous, but Razzlekhan’s offbeat music videos and head-scratching rhymes made her a crypto icon, in a certain way. But we won’t be hearing from her for a while.
