Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) was hacked this week. 15 July, 2020, will mark the day Twitter suffered the most catastrophic breach of its short history.
The hack led to high profile figures and companies including Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Elon Musk, Kanye West, Bill Gates and Apple being compromised.
Musk’s Twitter account has been impersonated in various forms since 2018, when scammers began using a similar profile name to his to flout a cryptocurrency deal that was, as it turned out, too good to be true. Effectively, if you sent the crypto enthusiast a little currency, he’d send a lot back.
