It’s not just national. While Donald Trump and his Republican allies consider how to approach a proposed U.S. Bitcoin reserve once the president-elect takes power, multiple states are starting to plot their own moves.
Ohio became the latest state to join the list this week, as Representative Derek Merrin introduced a bill to establish such a crypto stockpile, following moves from legislators in Texas and Pennsylvania in recent weeks.
“The U.S. dollar is being rapidly devalued, and our state treasurer should have the authority and flexibility to invest in Bitcoin when determining proper asset allocation,” said Merrin. “Ohio must embrace technology and protect tax dollars from eroding.”
